Narratrace Vault — your archive, preserved forever
Vault
For existing subscribers only

Your archive,
preserved forever.

Everything you've built — every interview, photograph, video, and letter — kept safe in read-only mode. Vault is not a deletion. It's a deliberate pause, at a fraction of the cost of an active plan.

Available in-app

Vault pricing is shown in your account when you choose to downgrade. It's available exclusively to existing Individual or Family subscribers — not as a new subscription.

If you're thinking of cancelling, Vault may be what you actually need.

What's preserved

Every memory you've captured stays intact

Vault is not a deletion. It's not a reduced archive. It's your complete archive — locked, safe, and readable — at a significantly lower monthly cost.

Who chooses Vault

When pausing makes more sense than stopping

You've captured what you came to capture

You spent a year recording your parents. The archive is rich — forty interviews, three hundred photographs, twelve letters. The active work is done. Vault lets you step down to a lower cost while keeping everything exactly as it is, readable any time you want to return to it.

You're going through a difficult season

Sometimes life makes a monthly subscription feel like one thing too many. Vault costs significantly less than an active plan — enough to preserve everything you've built without the pressure of continuing to contribute. You can reactivate your full plan when you're ready.

You want to protect what exists before deciding anything else

If you're considering cancelling, Vault is the answer to: "but what happens to everything I've built?" The answer is: it stays. Intact. Safe. Readable. The stories don't disappear just because you're not adding new ones.

"We built Vault because we watched people close to us face the hardest decision — not 'should I keep the archive' but 'can I afford to.' Vault is our answer to that. We'd rather keep your stories safe at lower cost than lose them entirely."

— Raaj Sharma, Founder. If you're thinking of leaving, sign in and switch to Vault before you cancel. You can always come back.

Questions

How Vault works

Is Vault available to new subscribers?
No. Vault is a downgrade path for existing Individual or Family subscribers — not a starting point. If you're new to Narratrace, start with a 14-day free trial on Individual or Family.
How do I switch to Vault?
Sign in at www.narratrace.io, go to your account page, and select "Manage billing." From your Stripe billing portal, you can downgrade to Vault. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Can I reactivate my full plan from Vault?
Yes. Upgrade from Vault to Individual or Family at any time from your account page. Your archive is exactly as you left it — no reprocessing, no re-upload. You pick up where you left off.
Can I still export my archive from Vault?
Export remains available in Vault for the interviews, letters, and photos currently supported by the in-product export tool. We are expanding export coverage for additional media formats.
What happens to time-locked letters in Vault?
Letters already scheduled continue to deliver on their set dates. Vault doesn't interrupt scheduled deliveries. You just can't create new letters while in Vault mode.
What if I cancel completely instead of switching to Vault?
Your account moves to a read-only Vault state and new creation pauses. You can continue viewing the archive and use the supported export tool. Explicitly choosing the paid Vault option provides the billing terms shown on this page.

Before you cancel, consider this.

Everything you've built is worth keeping. Vault keeps it safe at a cost that's much easier to carry. You can come back to active recording any time.
